2019-20 HSQB Midseason Poll Results

The following article was a contribution by the entire Groger Ranks staff and many members of the HSQB community who helped out with this poll. Thank you.

Over the last few weeks, we at Groger Ranks have been running our second midseason poll of the national high school quizbowl circuit. Now, we are pleased to unveil the results! Only one ballot out of around 30 ballots cast was rejected, and we have attached the copies of the ballots with the justifications added by voters so that you can take a look too. We dropped the two highest and two lowest positions each team was ranked in order to have the most accurate results and eliminate anomalies. The 2019-20 HSQB Midseason Poll results was brought to you by our subscribers on Patreon, namely:

Congratulations to University Lab A from Urbana, Illinois for being the overwhelming first place pick in the midseason poll! Uni Lab is currently also the #1 Groger Ranked team according to the midseason rankings, and it will be interesting to see if this holds up in 2020.

We have, as always, recorded a podcast to accompany the results. The podcast was recorded based on the top 25 as of an hour before the close of the polls, so some of the numbers discussed may be slightly different.

Thanks as always for supporting Groger Ranks!
